Reign In The Greater Light Of Your Righteousness

For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe (Hebrews 5:13).

The reason some Christians are still spiritual babes is due to their ignorance of God’s doctrine of righteousness. According to the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, righteousness is firstly a nature; the nature of God, which was imparted to your spirit at the New Birth. When you were born again, you were born as righteous as God Himself. You don’t become more righteous as you grow spiritually, just as a baby doesn’t become more human as he grows. Even though he is a baby, he’s still as human as any adult. Righteousness gives you the ability to stand in the presence of God without any sense of guilt, condemnation or inferiority. This is called right-standing.

Secondly, righteousness produces the rightness or character of God in the human spirit; it gives you the ability to do right. So right living isn’t righteousness but a product of righteousness.

The opening scripture shows that as long as you’re unskillful in the word of righteousness, you’re a spiritual babe. This reminds of what Paul said when he rebuked the Corinthian church: “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3). The latter portion of this scripture suggests that when you become spiritual, you don’t ‘walk as men.’

You see, the quality of your life depends on your understanding of your righteousness in Christ. Your faith can never go beyond your understanding of righteousness. In James 5:16-18, the Bible tells us of how Elijah held rain for three and a half years until the whole nation repented of their evil deeds. This man triumphed against impossible odds and ruled over kings and kingdoms because he was cognizant of his right standing with God (1 Kings 18:19-40).

No wonder the Bible says, “…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). However, if you’re ignorant of your righteousness in Christ, you can’t rule and reign in life. It simply means that you’re still a spiritual babe. Therefore, make a quality decision today to study the Word of God like never before, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…” (Romans 1:17). Hallelujah!

Confession
I am the righteousness of God, so I function according to the rightness of God in my spirit. Not only does righteousness make me live right, it makes me function with precision in whatever I do. I’m unblameable in all my affairs, because God’s righteousness has been set to my account, and I’m living continually in the light of this understanding.

Romans 10:1-3
Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Romans 3:4
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Take Advantage Of The Corporate Unction

Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities … (Isaiah 33:20).

The Bible refers to Zion as the city of our solemnities, meaning our place of gathering, or our meeting place as believers. A good example of this is the local church or specially organized meetings where believers gather in God’s presence to worship and fellowship with the Word, the Spirit and one another. When we come together as God’s children, a corporate anointing comes into operation by the Spirit, bringing about the miraculous, establishing the joy and peace of God in our hearts. It’s important that you avail yourself of these precious moments so you don’t miss out on the blessings of God for you. At such gatherings, you’re able to receive God’s answers to questions in your heart, and take advantage of the corporate anointing to lay hold on whatever kind of a miracle you so desire.

For instance, in the twenty-fourth verse of Isaiah 33, the Bible says, “And the inhabitant (of Zion) shall not say, I am sick…” In other words, sickness would cease to be a part of your life as you fellowship constantly with other believers. Maybe there was a tumour growing on your body: As you worship with fellow Christians in the church, the tumour simply dissolves. Sometimes, you don’t even notice immediately what the Spirit of God has already accomplished in you under such a corporate unction; but you discover in due course that the symptoms you used to have are no longer present.

As a Christian, if you’re going to walk in God’s unusual blessings continually, you must learn to take advantage of the corporate anointing through fellowship with other Christians. The Bible rightly instructs us: “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25). So, I encourage you today to get committed in the local church by being present and active at the church services and other meetings duly scheduled by the church. This makes you more effective in your Christian walk, and helps you live victoriously.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for enlightening my spirit on the great importance of having constant fellowship with other believers. I’m taking advantage of the corporate anointing as I yield myself to live by your instructions. I’m continually uplifted, strengthened and renewed in worship with fellow believers, in Jesus’ Name.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
